AUSTRALIAN PAIRS - 2025

What promised to be unsetlling weekend on the 9th June turned out to be dry albeit a bit mixed with sunshine and fresh weather, but that did not deter 12 teams from entering the annual Australian Pairs.  As always some great bowling (and some not so great!) but played in friendly and competitive spirit.  A superb afternoon.

The result was close with Karen King and Anne Slade taking the honours,  and with join second place going to Terry Atkinson with Chris Isaham and Peter Stokes and Steve Dean.  Well done to all.

NORTH MYMMS WIN THE NETHERCOTT TROPHY

On Friday 30th May, 2025, teams from North Mymms, Harperbury and Potters Bar Bowls Clubs played their Annual Fixture for the Nethercott Trophy.  Four teams from each Club met at North Mymms Bowls Club, all hoping to carry off the Trophy.

This fixture has been generously sponsored, since 2012, by Nethercott Funeral Services, who have Offices in Potters Bar and Radlett. Charlotte and Victoria have stepped into their Dad Charles’ shoes, since his Retirement. They came along to watch the match and to present the Trophy to the Winners.

Always an enjoyable afternoon, with much camaraderie amongst the Players, it is a fixture that everyone is keen to play. The sunny weather was perfect for Bowling and the Greens played beautifully. It was a very close Competition as each Club had wins on  two Rinks. There was much totting up of ends won and points scored. Eventually it was declared that, for the third year in a row, North Mymms were the Winners, and retained the Trophy.

There followed a lovely meal, provided by North Mymms, and funded by the Nethercotts. Also a generous donation to each of the Clubs and , of course, the Trophy.
